Donated tissues include bone, skin, heart valves, veins, tendons, and other soft tissues.

Who receives tissue donations?

Depending on the type of tissue, burn victims, trauma patients and injured athletes can benefit from donated tissue. Tissue can also be used for bypass surgeries, as well as repairs caused by infection or degenerative disease.

What are the costs associated with tissue donation?

No costs directly related to organ, tissue or eye donation are passed on to the family.

Will funeral arrangements be affected by my decision to donate?

Tissue donation will not affect funeral arrangements and will allow for an open casket viewing if so desired.
